The Bay Area Air District issued a Spare the Air Alert Thursday night cautioning Bay Area residents to avoid being outside. Spare the Air alerts are issued when ozone or particulate matter pollution is expected to reach unhealthy levels, potentially causing irritation for those who have asthma or emphysema. Jack Broadbent, executive officer of the Bay Area Air District, said in a statement that air from the Kincade fire was expected to spread throughout the Bay Area on Friday....

As of Friday morning, at least nine wildfires were burning in the Golden State, parts of which were under a red flag warning, which indicates that weather conditions were prime for wildfires starting. Firefighters urged all residents, even those apparently not in danger, to remain vigilant because the high Santa Ana winds could cause the flames to spread rapidly. “It’s always these fall months. They are the most damaging, the most destructive,” California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention (Cal Fire) Battalion Chief Amy Head told CBS News....

The South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD), issued the air quality advisory for the counties of Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino on Wednesday and it will remain in effect until Friday morning. “Wildfires in northern and central California are producing heavy smoke that is being transported into the South Coast Air Basin and the Coachella Valley,” South Coast AQMD, which is the air pollution control agency for these counties, said in a press release....

The most recent Call of Duty tweet held a countdown video that confirmed a fan-favorite kill-streak was being added to the game. Although earlier leaks had already suggested its use, the confirmation only goes to drive excitement about the game. The nurse claims the department ignored orders from both their physician and county health professional to have them tested after they started displaying symptoms of the disease.
