The time period selected for Call of Duty: Warzone’s integration matches with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Season 1 launch. There is still no telling what content will be found in Season 1, but fans are expecting more reveals within the next few weeks. One piece of information that the developers did share is that all content earned in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be usable in Warzone once this integration is complete. Once the two games have combined, the process will be exactly how Modern Warfare split the battle pass and store content.

The developers do say that players will be able to use their Call of Duty: Modern Warfare content within Warzone, but the focus will mainly be on Black Ops Cold War. It will be interesting to see how the developers balance the content from two different titles. While the games share a similarity in design and franchise, their weapon balance and overall gameplay experiences are different enough to potentially cause complications.

Call of Duty: Warzone will become a hub for both Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare, acting as a middle ground that brings together the two games’ content. Players will have access to weapons, operators, loadouts, and more, easily divided within the in-game menu.

As for map changes, there is still a lot not known about this process. Activision’s attempt to combine the two titles will be a fundamental first for its development teams as the franchise normally abandons past content. Fans will be happy to know that all their efforts in Call of Duty: Warzone are not wasted, but with so many unknowns on the horizon, the game’s community has an aura of hesitation and caution.

Only time will be able to tell if this integration will be successful. From a fan perspective, the integrity of three games is on the line for this entire process to work.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to release on November 13th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
