The game’s multiplayer features will have a Create-a-Class system similar to the previous series installments. In this system, the developers have already confirmed the return of Wildcards alongside several perks. Now, after the early demos, content creators have revealed a list of confirmed perks that will be in the next title.

Perks have been part of the Call of Duty experience for years, each one adding a defining trait to the operator, helping to create a more tactically sound build for combat operations. Fans have individual preferences when it comes to their personal loadouts, and perk selection is a vital part of that entire system. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is expected to have a combination of new and old perks, and was even rumored to see the return of a rather controversial ability.

Confirmed Perks

Perk Slot 1 - Engineer, Tactical Mask, Flak Jacket

Perk Slot 2 - Scavenger, Quartermaster, Tracker

Perk Slot 3 - Cold Blooded, Ghost, Ninja

These perks provide a standard base for most Call of Duty titles. There are no new appearances, although some perks like ‘Ninja’ do have new names, as the abilities are rather consistent to previous games. There is a natural question among fans regarding perk balancing, but not much can really be known until the perks are seen in action on a large scale.

Out of this selection, players can easily find some of their favorite builds from previous Call of Duty titles. Tactical Mask, Track, and Ninja make for a very aggressive stealth build that can sneak up on enemies while avoiding instant stun effects. Another great example is the combination between Engineer, Scavenger, and Ghost creating a player who specializes in survival and disabling enemy equipment.

Even with this list of confirmed perks, players have a chance of creating powerful and unique builds. With more perks sure to be on their way, not to mention the wildcard system as well, the game will likely have an in-depth character creation process. As fans look towards the next Black Ops title, many are happy to see that their character’s class is more than a prebuilt specialist kit.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to release on November 13th on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
