This information comes from TheGamingRevolution YouTube channel and Twitter user LongSensationYT, both of whom are known for their accurate Call of Duty franchise leaks. Even though they are generally accurate leakers, fans should still take this information with a grain of salt. Neither Activision nor Treyarch have even confirmed the existence of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War at this point, and there’s a chance that this info is inaccurate.

At any rate, if the leakers are to be believed, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will feature some classic Black Ops multiplayer maps. More specifically, the leakers claim that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will feature the classic maps Firing Range, Jungle, Nuketown, and Summit, all of which are held in high regard by the Call of Duty community.

Whether or not this is true remains to be seen, but if so, one has to wonder exactly how these classic maps will be introduced to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. It’s possible that they will all be available in the game at launch, but there’s also a chance that fans will have to wait for them to be added later, as post-launch DLC. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has taken the latter approach when it comes to featuring classic maps, and it has also made some dramatic changes to maps that have not been all that well-received.

Depending on the form Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War takes, it will be interesting to see if Treyarch makes major changes to these maps or leaves them mostly untouched. It will also be interesting to see if any Black Ops 2 maps make their way into the game, and just what the ratio is between classic maps and new ones.

It’s possible that the shortened development cycle for Black Ops Cold War has played a role in the game getting four original Black Ops maps to fill out its roster, but that’s just speculation at this time. Hopefully the Black Ops Cold War reveal happens sooner rather than later so some of this speculation can be laid to rest.
