This will be the fourth Free Access period for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The first came in January, with players able to access the game’s original Zombies map Die Maschine. Lasting an entire week, this period had seemingly proven successful for Treyarch, as another Free Access period came in February. This time, it focused on multiplayer and Outbreak, providing new players with a solid mix of Zombies and multiplayer content. A similar blend of modes was seen in the third Free Access period, which came with the launch of Season 3 in April.

As revealed by Charlie Intel, the latest free access weekend for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will kick off this Thursday, and it runs from May 27 to June 1. During this five-day period, Call of Duty fans will once again be able to enjoy a mix of multiplayer and Zombies content. Like the other trial periods, players will keep their progress for ranks and unlocks, picking up where they left off in the next trial or when they purchase the full game.
For multiplayer, everything will be accessible, meaning that players can enjoy Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s 12v12 playlist and the newly added remake of Standoff. The Baseball bat was recently added to the game for fans of melee combat, and the AMP63 machine pistol will be coming to the game sometime in Season 3 Reloaded. The popular Die Hardpoint playlist is also active, while the Multi-Team Elimination playlist has been restored following a temporary removal for bug fixes.
As for Zombies, players will not have access to the Survival maps Die Maschine and Firebase Z. Instead, Outbreak will be free-to-play this weekend, giving fans a chance to experience the large-scale mode. This free-access period does come at a good time, though, as players can explore the mode’s Duga region and try out Outbreak’s new fishing mechanic. The first Outbreak main quest is live, too, giving fans a proper objective to complete during the trial period.
Whether players are beating Outbreak’s easter egg or going for nukes in Die Hardpoint, there is plenty to enjoy inside Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War at the moment. As such, grabbing a friend and dropping into multiplayer or Zombies this weekend seems like a good way to kill some time.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
