Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War just recently started Season 3, bringing a bevy of additions and changes to the title and its free-to-play counterpart, Call of Duty: Warzone. While many Call of Duty: Warzone players will recognize some of the same guns and operators across both games, there is plenty of separate content in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War to make it well worth checking out.

The free trial gives players access to all of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer mode, with many maps and multiple game modes from April 23 to April 28. There is a wide variety of experiences to have here, from the competitive skirmishes in Gunfight to the absolute chaos of multiteam modes. Season 3 even brought the fan-favorite mode Sticks & Stones to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, which is an attractive motivation to give the game a try for any veterans of the Call of Duty: Black Ops series.

The trial also gives players access to Call of duty: Black Ops Cold War’s new Zombies mode, Outbreak. The mode drops players into large maps infested with zombies and filled with locations, equipment, and secrets. Outbreak is an all-new zombies experience that is well worth trying for any Zombies fans who don’t have a copy of the game yet. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War does an excellent job supporting the mode and has added plenty of cool secrets and new gear for players to find and experiment with. Unfortunately, the free trial does not give players access to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s more traditional zombie maps Die Maschine and Firebase Z.

Whether or not Call of Duty fans have been occupied with Call of Duty: Warzone or simply haven’t picked up Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War yet, the free trial period is a great opportunity to jump into the game and see what it all has to offer. For any fans who like what they play, purchasing the game will also grant access to the single-player campaign, the more traditional Zombies mode maps, and Dead Ops Arcade 3. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was the highest selling game last month, so it will be interesting to see if this free trial helps the game claim that spot again in April.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
