In a new blog post, Treyarch has detailed all the content coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Vanguard this year. Most notably, it confirms that the fan-favorite Jungle map from Call of Duty: Black Ops will get re-released for Black Ops Cold War. This map will be a part of the 6v6 rotation, and the developer has also shared an image to go alongside this announcement. Jungle is one of the most popular maps from the original Black Ops, and it has been re-released in other Call of Duty games. The post also mentions that Treyarch will release a new weapon and a familiar face from the campaign as an operator in the coming weeks.

The Zombies mode in Vanguard will also get overhauled, and Treyarch shares details on some changes coming to the game. It will add round-based Zombies gameplay to Vanguard, but users will have to wait for some time before they can play this game mode. For this purpose, Treyarch will have to develop extensive systems from scratch in various areas, including the design of wave spawning, AI pathing, Door Buys, Wall Buys, and more.

Treyarch also announces a new map for Zombies in Call of Duty: Vanguard. It will be a complete reimagining of “Shi No Numa” from Call of Duty: World at War, complete with new quests and areas to explore. Fans can expect this map to release after the conclusion of Season 3, and the developer then notes some other changes coming to the Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Battle Pass in Season 3. Call of Duty: Vanguard faced a lot of criticism for the state of the Zombies game mode on launch, so it’s great to see Treyarch continuing to make these improvements.

The final section focuses on Zombies in Black Ops Cold War. Treyarch will not release new Zombies maps for Cold War and instead focus on updating the Outbreak and Onslaught modes. The blog post ends with a note on Ranked Play, confirming that it will come out of beta with Season 3 of Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
