In today’s Nintendo Direct Mini presentation, Cadence of Hyrule revealed three new downloadable content packs to help enhance the game. DLC Pack 1 added even more playable characters to the game including Impa, Shadow Link, Shadow Zelda, Frederic the Shopkeeper, and Cadence’s grandmother Aria. Each character has their own playstyle like Impa who can teleport behind enemies, Frederick can revive as a Ghost, or the increased challenge from Aria who dies from getting hit or missing a beat.

This pack also brings back All Character Mode and Mystery Mode. All Character Mode lets players tackle a 21 floor dungeon and ultimately Ganon while Mystery Mode which displays all items and enemies with a question mark.

DLC 2 is called Melody pack and lets players pick which character and area will feature certain songs. In addition to the original soundtrack, players also have 39 new remixed songs from composers like FamilyJules, A_Rival, and Chipzel.

The Final DLC pack is a new campaign centered around the Skull Kid. In Symphony of the Mask, players will experience a new story, map, and songs focused on the Skull Kid. Players can swap equipped masks to change Skull Kid’s abilities, similar to The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. Unfortunately, this pack isn’t available quite yet with a planned release sometime before October.

Interested players have a few options available to them. The first two DLC packs are available now from the Nintendo eShop, coming in at $5.99 each. However, a season pass is also available which contains all three content packs for $14.99, ultimately saving players a few bucks in the process and unlocking red and blue variations for Link and Zelda. For fans who want the complete edition of the game, Nintendo is making it available on October 23.

Mixing the dance based combat of Crypt of the Necrodancer with The Legend of Zelda, Cadence of Hyrule quickly became an indie hit on the Nintendo Switch. Using characters, enemies, and locations from The Legend of Zelda franchise, the game utilized over 25 remixed songs from the series to push players to move, explore, and fight to the beat of the music.

Cadence of Hyrule is available now on the Nintendo Switch.
